Stunt master Rajkumar dies of heart attack
Rambo Rajkumar, the man many stuntmen in Tamil cinema industry look up to, as their mentor, died following a severe heart attack on Saturday. The stuntman was working on the Telugu remake of Polladhavan, when he complained of pain in the chest and was rushed to the hospital. He was declared dead on arrival then.The 53-year-old stuntman is remembered as the fight master whose action choreography was strikingly similar to Sylvester Stallone in Rambo. It was on account of this that he earned himself the prefix Rambo. Rambo Rajkumar has worked for over 450 films in five languages, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Kanal Kannan, a popular stunt choreographer and actor, was his student and later went on to be come a big stuntman. Rambo Rajkumar is actually the son of a popular yesteryear stuntman, TK Parameshwar, who choreographed those stylish action flicks of MGR.
Rambo Rajkumar was also working on Dhanush’s Aadukalam. In fact, he is remembered as one of the favourites of Dhanush and Selvaraghavan, having worked for most of their films, from kadhal Kondein, to Pudupettai. For Selva, he was also part of his magnum opus, Aayirathil Oruvan. And Rambo Rajkumar’s ties to Kollywood is all set to continue. His son, Nava Kanth, was only recently launched as a hero for director Thambi Ramaiah’s next film, Oru Koodai Mutham.
